I taught porcelian dollmaking and supplied doll parts internationaly for ten years . I became interested in painting portraits when my grandchildren were born and from there wildlife portraits.
Porcelian painting is an art form that is over 2000 years old. After each application of paint the piece must be exposed to heat of 1400 degrees or higher, it is an art form that is still adapting to modern techniques and styles. I really love to watch a piece come alive with each application adding depth and character . Some pieces can take from 7 or more firings. Each piece is a one of a kind heirloom and is to be treasured.
